About

Slikor is an Australian artist and mixed media creative. His figurative and portrait work often combines expressive applications of a medium with finely detailed, careful composition.  The artist uses this detail, along with a number of other devices, to draw the viewer into a sensitive portrayal of his subject; he then coaxes them to consider the key ideas that are interlinked with the work, not just through symbolism but also on an intuitive level. Themes vary widely but often reveal a tragic love of tenacious human relations and an ongoing search for profound, ultimate good.

Informed by 15 years of graffiti and public art painting across the globe, Slikor exhibits regularly and while living in Sydney has previously been involved in producing artwork for numerous clients. These include major corporations such as Absolute Vodka and American Express.

In June 2010 he left Australia to create a series of international art projects tied together by the theme of human interconnection.

To compliment this idea, Slikor chose to work in developing countries that are arguably some of western media's most misunderstood. The series included a large-scale painting installation in Beijing, China; a solo exhibition in Lahore, Pakistan that gained nation wide press; a collaboration in Tehran with Iranian street artist, A1one and an interactive live painting display in Istanbul, Turkey.

The two and a half years taken to create this series, as well as the memorable journey travelled in order to complete it, has cemented Slikor as someone truly passionate about realising his distinct creative vision and who’s body of work will only continue to develop in the future.
